In the hole

If you've ever run track, or played baseball you are familiar with this term. You're not next up to bat or compete (On deck), but you are getting ready to warm up. You're getting your things together, checking in with the coach, and paying close attention to what the next two people ahead of you are going to do.

I'm "in the hole" right now with my life. It sounds like a bad term, but really, it's an amazing place to be. Kayla and I are engaged (YESSSS!!!!), we're starting to look at houses to rent (Smyrna is cool, btw), and generally starting to think about the life we're going to have together. A wedding is coming up here in about a year or so, and I can't wait to marry this woman. She is just amazing, and she makes me feel like I can do anything. Here's to "the one", and my one... my fiancee.

I am gettin ready to go take one of the last tests of my college career. Finance is going to be a bit easy.

I am also reading a book entitled, "The Way of the Roadwarrior: Tales from the Road Most Travelled." I really like this book, even though it scares me sometimes to think that I may or may not have it as bad as some of the situations mentioned in here. It definately makes me weary of trusting any airline, as well as getting me thinking about my mindset while I'm on the road.

"Come home to Kayla." Jack: Do your work, don't stop at the bar, get on that plane, and come back to Kayla. Life is better when you're chillin' on the couch, cooking out, looking into those big blue eyes, and generally wishing you didn't have to leave come next week.

I miss her already. She's asleep still, while I am "studying" for my finance test. I can't wait to wrap it up at school, come back home, and spend the rest of the day with this wonderful woman.
